Have made this recipe for years and used it for homemade Christmas gifts. Folks always ask for it. Kept in a tightly closed container it will last for quite a while.
Tip: when making several batches in succession, keep an extra set of kitchen tools on hand. While making one batch, the other set of tools can be soaking in very hot soapy water to clean. Rinse, dry and ready to use again while other set is now soaking.
Do not try to make a double batch at one time, the ingredients are too hot and too hard to spread. Best to make one recipe at a time.
