Hi Debbie, you have a powerful microwave! We've tried this with a 1100 watt microwave, and it only required 2 minutes on the second round of heating. You might want to start with a 4 minute session during the first round, until the sugar mixture is boiling readily. Then for the second round heat for two minutes or less, and watch it carefully. Pull the bowl when the mixture turns a caramel color. Good luck and happy baking! Kye@KAF
