Anne, things like this have happened to the best of us! And yes, you're exactly right; a half batch of this recipe will take a less time in the microwave. Probably a bit more than half the time, but it's important to look for the medium-brown caramel color and stop as soon as you see it. Sugar can go from a beautiful copper-caramel to burnt in just seconds! It's an exciting microwaving adventure. :) Happy baking! Kye@KAF
