I am particularly fond of a bread from Bernard Clayton called "Anise Kuchen". It is both wonderfully scented and delicious. It is special because it is baked with strips of greased brown paper placed around the dough in the fashion of ribbon. When cooled, the paper is removed and replaced with actual ribbon of matching size. Because the dough has 'bulged' around the paper it magically appears to have been baked with the ribbon in place! This is quite the festive gift!
