While preparing apples after picking them in the Fall, I prepare my apple pie filling. Once done I line my pie plate with plastic wrap (with overlap), pour the filling in, cover, and place in the freezer. Once frozen I lift out of the pie plate and place in a freezer bag. When I want an Apple pie, I make the crust and put the frozen filling in the crust and place in the refrigerator until ready to bake. Works great.
