By the time I added the thickeners and stirred and cooked a bit, there actually wasn't any juice left. What you're seeing in the picture is the boiled cider, and yes, I stirred it in. If there had been any significant amount of juice prior to adding the boiled cider, I would have drained it off, simmered it down, and added it to the rest of the filling. Hope that helps - PJH
