I'm shocked that KAF actually published this blog post, as flawed as it is.
Volume measure and weighed measure are NOT the same thing. Just as a cup of flour doesn't weigh 8 oz, neither does a cup of water weigh 8 oz. Had you measured out 8.34 oz of water by weight, you'd have gotten exactly a cup of water.
I don't understand why you got the weight to volume measurement for solids right, but completely ignored the variance in weight to volume for liquids.
