That's a possibility, Brenda, but usually, the culprits of over-spreading are too high a temperature or too much sugar. Try lowering your oven temperature by 25°F the next time you make a batch and see if that helps. Another thing you can do to help is to chill your cookies in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before baking them.
