Great post! I love the packing tape tip. I generally fold the end under so that I can find it easily, but I like your idea better - no waste! I have a brother-in-law who lives about 1500 miles away, and I send him many varieties of cookies every Christmas using the waxed paper lined Ziploc container method described by lari29. I put the largest, flattest cookies on the bottom e.g. gingerbread men and butter cutouts, and rounded, mounded ones on top, more waxed paper, tape the lids down in case of accidental pop-off. I use whatever I have on hand to insulate the containers - peanuts, bubble wrap, newspaper, sometimes a combination, so that nothing in the box has any wiggle room. My brother-in-law actually sent me a whole case of Ziploc containers to ensure a regular supply of Christmas cookies!
