Hi. I baked these yesterday and they turned out great. We live in the Netherlands, where pumpkin puree and pumpkin spice are not things you'll find in every supermarked so I cooked some fresh pumpkin myself and used the traditional 'speculaaskruiden', which are slightly more leaning to a gingerbread mix of spices. I used 'only' 3/4 cup = 150 gr of sugar, which is still more than enough to make it a really sweet mixture.
The result looks great and tastes great, even without coating them. I like to put some hazelnut-chocolate Nutella on them though. It's a lot like speculaas cake!
