I just made these using Regular whole wheat flour. They are very tasty and very sweet. They are much sweeter than I would like, although my friends would love them. Can I cut out some of the sugar without difficulty? Oh I made some in Large Madeline pan, It takes about 1 1/2 tablespoons per shell. Not as nicely brown as the donuts but still very cute. I only have one donut pan so it takes forever to make a batch. I did the apple cider donuts on Friday.
