Hi Linda, it sounds like you might be measuring your flour by scooping it directly from the bag itself. This can compact the flour into the cup and make your baked goods turn out dry and heavy. To ensure you're using the right amount of flour, we recommend either measuring your flour by weight using a scale or fluffing and sprinkling the flour into your measuring cup. These are the best ways to ensure your recipe turns out perfectly, and when the ingredients are measured in this fashioned, the hermit dough should come together nicely. Kindly, Kye@KAF
