Hi Cheri- I would give you thermometer a check in boiling water because you shouldn't have found them to be that sticky if you cooked them that high, so you thermometer may have been a little off. You should be able to cleanly cut them with a knife as in the photo and if you put some baking spray on your cutting tool, that can help it to release more easily as well.
