I agree, I have never added sugar. And it turns out that cinnamon is really good for us, plus it is delicious, so I add a lot more than suggested, and the Vietnamese Cinnamon is truly worth it. A splash of apple cider is nice if you don't have the boiled cider. I also use a variety of fresh picked apples. I love my applesauce chunky and hot in my morning Pompanoosuc Porridge, sprinkled with some toasted walnuts. Thanks for posting this recipe. Love my slow cooker and all that it does well.
