I agree, I have never added sugar. And it turns out that cinnamon is really good for us. A splash of apple cider is nice if you don't have the boiled cider. I also use a variety of fresh picked apples. I love my applesauce chunky and hot in my morning Pompanoosuc Porridge! Thanks for posting this recipe.
