After trying the basic version earlier this week, I tried two of my own ideas tonight. Both turned out great.
1. Almond butter, coconut flakes, and chocolate chips. No cinnamon or other spices. I also used Lyles golden syrup instead of honey.
2. For my husband who loves all things spicy, I went with crunchy peanut butter, chocolate chips, and a teaspoon each of cayenne and chili powder. These pack a good hot kick and husband loved them!
I did find that my chocolate chips were melting when I mixed in the hot nut butter honey mix. This time I froze the chips first and added them last with a quick stir. They seem to have held up better.
