My Grandmother knew how to make delicious apple pies. As a child I would watch over her shoulder from the peeling of the Granny Smith apples to the basic crust recipe which turned out a flaky crust with a just enough sweetness to the apples. People who ate her pies couldn't get enough of them they were that good. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to completely duplicate her delicious pies but I do come close.
