I have had to throw out my starter also, left my husband in charge of the poor thing....... I akso have in the past had sucess wih freezing fed starter while gone for an extended time. Works great. Thanks for the recipes for unfed starter. It is really difficult to eat a baked good with some taste of my starter. Any ideas for fruit tarts, since summer fruit is coming in now I think a base of sourdough something with fresh fruit would be perfect for a summer dessert. Josette
