I have used the same pound cake recipe for probably 30 years and always turned out beautifully and was delicious. A few years ago that same recipe started having a sad steak and it was determined that my oven which had been in my house for over 40 years had gone bad. Yea, excited with a new oven, but same problem??? Had service man out twice to calibrate the oven. Neither time worked - still sad cake. My daughter suggested I use the convection oven on my stove. Better texture and better taste, but still had a sad streak. I am to the end of my ropes. This recipe that has been my standby for so long is close to getting retired. I am wondering if even another recipe would rise properly. Could the problem be temperature - too high or too low for both regular oven and convection oven. Nothing else has changed except the oven.
