I recently attempted a butter cake. My butter cake came out dense, gluey streak. The ingredients:- 250g unsalter butter 210g castor sugar 5 eggs 230g cake flour (I used Lighthouse Plain flour which is supposed to be soft, low protein flour for Biscuit, Pastry & cake 1/2 tsp baking powder 50g milk (I used 1/3 cup shelf full cream milk, not fresh milk) 1 tsp vanilla extract (which I used 1/2 tsp concentrated) Oven temperature - I baked at 160C using top/bottom heat according to recipe. I have preheat the oven while preparing the cake. However recipe states 350F/160C. Later I realised that conversion from 350F to 160C is for fanforce. Are you able to tell where did I go wrong. Thank you in anticipation.
