Jody, thanks for reaching out! Since we're not familiar with the recipe or ingredients, it's impossible for us to know what's changed, but we think there's a good chance that your ingredients may be different. Cake mixes in particular get updated regularly, but even butter can change its formula over the years. You can find a new recipe that works better for you or keep experimenting with your old one until you land on an adaptation that works.
