Hi Kristine, it's difficult to tell when a cake is finished without opening the oven. You should smell a lovely chocolate aroma, and the cake should appear set on the top (rather than wet). The edges of the cake should be pulling away from the edges of the cake pan as well. However, to truly be sure it's done, you should touch the top of the cake and make sure it springs back readily, and insert a toothpick into the center. It should come out clean or with just a few crumbs clinging to it when it's done. Happy baking! Kye@KAF
