Hi Ariane, if nothing else, it's good to be able to rule out one possible cause. Other reasons a cake can fall include using too little or too weak flour, using too much leavening, and as you mentioned, opening the oven door before the cake has set, as this lowers the temp of the oven and disrupts the bake.
