I made the ‘mistake’ of making this recipe for the hot dog buns and an overnight cheddar cheese recipe for the hamburger buns for the family cookout over Memorial Day. Now, I am officially the bun maker for all time, per my family. Lol. And you are absolutely correct about how strong the yeast is! I, too, used a skillet that wasn’t heavy enough. Buns were lopsided but still delicious. I followed the recipe exactly and although they didn’t look quite as nice as yours initially, at the end of the day they were perfect. Also won the contest of The Buttery Hotdog Bun vs Artisan Bread by Steve’s Cheddar Cheese Bun. Sorry, Steve. Both were way better than store bought but these were over the top…
NB: if there are any new bakers out there or bakers wanting to make artisan breads, I highly recommend Artisan Bread by Steve on YouTube. Found him during the pandemic and he freshened up my rusty bread making skills. “The Bob Ross of Bread Making.”
