Aunt Carm would make a very thick dough pizza with only sauce on top. I loved the dough on the top the best. My mom would use dough purchased from Columbus Baking Co. in Syracuse to make zippli, that's what she called it. She'd pull off small pieces of dough, stretch them real thin and fry them in a little oil. We'd put on homemade sauce and mozzarella and eat it with a knife and fork. After dinner we'd put cinnamon and sugar on the dough for dessert. The most common night for this meal was Christmas Eve.
