Hi, Sandy. Depending on the manufacturer, there are slight differences in the diameters of pans; there's no law or regulation requiring something labeled as an 8" pan to actually BE 8" around. When that happens to me I just make sure the 1/16th or so of overlap makes good contact with the corner of the pan; sometimes a drop or two gets underneath, but I always spray, line, and spray again, so I've never had drastically bad results out of it.
