Hello, first time bread baker here. I combined all the ingredients and just started mixing in a electric mixer. The dough just turned to crumbles? So I ended up mixing by hand (mushing the pieces back together) and adding water a teaspoon and then tablespoons at a time, and finally I got something that looked like dough but never really got “sticky”? It certainly wasn’t correct, whatever it was. I used 1 and 1/8 cups of water (initially), and added about 4 teaspoons and 3-5 tablespoons more water (some during the initial mixing and more later while kneading)… and kneaded that in till it looked better. I let it rise for about an hour, and shaped it into a loaf. Rose again till and inch over the pan at the center. The end result came out delicious, and maybe denser than it should be? But I’m looking for some guidance of how I could have possibly messed the mixing up so badly or what I should do next time.
