Hi there, Charlotte! We're sorry to hear that your bread didn't turn out quite as expected. I think I see where things might have gone awry here, after the dough cycle ends you'll want to remove the dough from the machine, shape it and place it in a loaf pan, and then lightly cover it before letting it go through the final rise. Once the dough has risen a second time, it'll be ready to bake and shouldn't collapse while cooling. If you have instant yeast, no need to proof it prior to mixing it in with your other dough ingredients. We hope this can help and happy baking!
