Yes, that's right Karen. There's no need to add yeast to water or "proof" it before using. It will activate and make your bread rise once it comes in contact with the moisture in your dough. If you want to be sure your yeast is still fresh, you're welcome to add it to a bit of the warm water in the recipe before adding the rest of the ingredients, but it's not a necessary step to take.
