I tried making this recipe today and got a brick. I forgot that whole wheat flour takes longer to rise. So I'll try it again next week. My bread machine can only handle 2 cups of flour at a time so I tried cutting the recipe in half. I started with 1 1/2 and 1/4 cups of whole wheat flour and it was very liquidy. I added another 1/2 cup because it was so wet. I also used molasses as the sweetener. Next time I'll try it in my mother's bread machine as originally written. Her machine can handle up to four cups of flour. It's a very pleasant smell as its baking.
