This pie is absolutely fantastic, but I have a problem with making a crust from scratch. No matter how many times I try, I have yet to make an edible pie crust! Following recipes is second nature for me as I have been cooking, and baking since learning at my dad's knee from the age of 6. Cakes and chocolate chip cookies are my specialty, along with Mexican food and fried chicken - not at the same time, of course. =) I really have no idea what I might be doing wrong. Is it possible to get pie crust too wet? Perhaps I add too much liquid, or roll the crust too much? I am really at a loss. Do you professionals have any tips for me to maybe help me understand how to get this process correct? I am really looking forward to not using store bought crusts anymore! =) Thank y'all so much for any help you can provide!
