The radiator idea worked very well--the metal was about 90 degrees hot and the surrounding air about 83. I covered the loaf (with a plastic top) with a tea towel and it rose in about 1.5 hours. I had a small mishap when it fell once off the radiator (haste, waste) but I put it back up and it rose again in about 30 min to the height specified in the article above. Success!
