The temperature north of NOLA was predicted to be 94 and 77 at night. What a grand time to try this very temperamental bread. I did not have any white cornmeal so I gave grits a chance. I put the starter outside and left it 24 hr. nothing, left it another 24 and there it was with lots of bubbles and that wonderful smell. The batter and the formed bread also went outside during day. My new way of making salt rising bread -GRITS
