I grew up eating Salt-Rising bread, I was born in 1940 and lived in Indianapolis, IN for the first 9 years of my life, my grandmother would only buy salt-rising bread even when I begged her to buy a loaf of Wonder bread (the polka-dots you know) I got my first "taste" of wonder bread in my school lunch--My reaction--I announced to the whole lunch room "This stuff is nasty!"
