Ideally you want to replicate the by-hand instructions as closely as possible. This will mean pre-combining the boiling water, oats, maple or brown sugar, honey, butter, salt, and cinnamon and allowing the mixture to cool to lukewarm before adding all ingredients to the machine. You would then want to mix, knead and rise for about 1 hr (or until the dough becomes quite puffy). If you prefer not to adjust the settings of your dough cycle, you can just pull the dough out as soon as it looks ready. Then shape and rise again as directed. Hope this helps! Mollie@KAF
