Truly a winning combination, isn't it? Sounds so simple, but there's something about those meatballs, and that sauce, that's just right. And I agree - it feels REALLY good to save these old recipes, many of which came over to this country and our American culture from other parts of the world. A little bit of history in our kitchens, eh? You know, you might try checking out some older Polish cookbooks; I gave one to my Polish sister-in-law, and she says the recipes are exact clones for what her mom made... worth a try.
