Hi there, Emily! We're sorry to hear that your dough didn't rise as expected this time around! If the weather has become cooler and drier than the last time you made this recipe, it could just be the change in the environment that's causing your dough to rise slower than expected. The pickle juice could also be what's affect the rise, this would depend on how much of the water you replaced with pickle juice and how much salt is in your homemade brine.
