Put the your rye bread in the oven. Added some pickle juice and it smells fantastic! I am a transplanted New Yorker, living now in Rhode Island and miss the wonderful Jewish rye I used to get in NYC. This is the first recipe that looks very promising.
Question re: sour dough starter.. when is the best time to use the starter for baking bread. After it deflates, before it deflates and still very active. First time using the starter I made myself and want to make sure I don't waste a whole bunch of flour if the starter isn't ready.. Thanks.. Betsy
