I have been baking for a loooonnnggg time and I at one time had the recipe that included the water. At some point, I threw it away, figuring I'd have it every time I opened a bag of Chocolate Chips. Not very smart. Anyway, my cookies have always been flat and crisp, just like the pictures you show. My sons love them but always ask what I do differently from their wives, whose cookies always come out puffy and soft. I don't deviate from the Nestle recipe so I have no answers for them except a smirk and a look that says, "I have a secret and you're not getting it." lol
