I grew up on bacon fat Chocolate Chip Cookies. Didn't realize it was different until classmate asked for one & said it didn't taste right (but, never asked for anymore ! ;^). This was left over "making do" after the Depression I suspect. We always saved bacon fat. I now only use butter.
