One of my friends who grew up in PA many years ago told of her mother sharing with her how the cookies were always served socially. When the hostess (or someone who brought the cookies to share) would set the table for guests, the cookies were placed on the radiator to keep warm. She said they were always served warm, not cold. At least that is the tradition she passed on. Interesting - and totally sensible. I think next time I bring cookies to someone in the winter, I'll suggest we set them on the radiator while we chat. Who doesn't love warm cookies? Thanks for sharing - PJH
