So, carefully following the original recipe, the first thing you did was to NOT use the original chocolate (which I am certain is not the same as it was 80 years ago anyway), Then proceed to change the mixing directions, and finish by choosing a different baking surface and cookie size. And likely, a different type of oven entirely. THAT'S MY KIND OF BAKING. You did not however, deviate from the most important elements. King Arthur Flour, and any good chocolate. And for those of us that regularly bake this way, THANK YOU FOR THE BAKERS" HOT LINE!!! If it ain't broke, don't fix it right? But do feel free to tweak it all over to make it YOURS. :) ~ MaryJane
