I do love this recipe - the muffins are moist and as you say, just sweet enough, and really delicious. I make these with any apple I have on hand and usually with dried cranberries since that's what I have more often than the raisins. Sometimes a drop or two of orange oil. Always a treat and people always ask for the recipe! I guess they may be a throwback, but there is a reason that these wonderful recipes stand the test of time. Thanks for reminding me how good these are. You're exactly right - recipes stand the test of time for a reason: because they're just really, really good.
