Don't like black pepper speckles in the soup? Use white pepper. It's available whole or ground from Penzey's Spices. It also works well in mashed potatoes or anything else where you don't want the black speckles. Carolyn Absolutely true! Just be careful as white pepper is a little more potent in comparison to the black variety.-Jon
