...and don't forget that that wet jacket (and snow pants) smelled like wet wool...it was hot chocolate we got when we came in from the cold. In our family, chicken noodle soup was more likely an ingredient in Mom's meat loaf, or occasionally for lunch with sandwiches since soups were pretty much homemade. Yep, and how about canned cream of mushroom soup? How many places did that show up in recipes? Rarely was it used as "soup." Elisabeth
