I think I know the source of this yeast confusion. I made this recipe in 2013; the original recipe, on the actual recipe site (not this blog site), called for only 1/4 teaspoon of yeast. But when I went to the blog site (this one), I noticed it called for an additional 1/2 teaspoon added to the main dough after rising the soaker. This was NOT in the directions on the main recipe site. I see now that both sites have 1 teaspoon of yeast listed in the ingredients, and it's all added to the soaker. However, the BLOG directions do indeed still have a line that reads, "Knead the fruit, nuts, chips, and yeast into the soft dough." It's obviously a remnant from when there was an additional amount of yeast to be added at this point, but which has since been eliminated.
