Hi Amy. We've done some conversing and are thinking the fudge had a putty-like consistency because it needed to be warmed up just a little bit more in order for the crystals to form and the fudge to set. We're definitely interested by this and hope to do some experimenting of chocolate chips vs. bars. Happy baking! Annabelle@KAF
