Hi Barbara! You want to aim for roughly a tablespoon a dough. A teaspoon scoop (which is a #100) actually holds about 1 3/4 teaspoons of dough. A tablespoon scoop (#40) holds 4 teaspoons. So you could absolutely use a #40, the cookies will just be about twice as large so it won't make as many and they'll take a little longer to bake. Happy baking!
