Does anyone know where Boston Cream Pie got its name? I love Boston Cream Pie. My mom made all kinds of layer cakes, but never Boston Cream Pie. It's my very favorite when it's served with some ganache on the side. Just to make sure every bite gets chocolate, you know. And I use dental floss to cut my cake layers. The added bonus is using the floss afterwards. Yum. Boston Cream Pie was named the official state dessert of Massachusetts in 1996. The Parker House Hotel (now the Omni Parker House Hotel) holds the key to the origin of this recipe from the 1800's. Happy Baking! Irene @ KAF
