Yes, I think that'll be fine; this is a plain & simple recipe, and I can't imagine James' version is much different, as far as ingredients. As long as the recipe calls for about the same amount of flour, then it should all fit in a 12-cup muffin pan. Tell your daughter good luck from all of us here at King Arthur Flour! PJH
